As a talented and passionate Sous Chef you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation, while also being part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
From locals to large tour groups, everyday is varied with opportunities to learn and share experience.
A meal is provided for shifts over 6 hour as well as draught soft drinks and an equal share of the tips.
Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and managing kitchen staff.
Ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to.
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to menu specifications and standards.
Supervise food production processes, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish served.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive learning environment.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
Skills
Proven experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting, preferably in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
Proficient in food preparation and production methods, with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively coordinate with team members.
