Overview


We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and culinary arts, with the ability to supervise kitchen operations effectively. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of food production and safety while assisting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities



Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and supervising kitchen staff. Oversee food preparation and ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality standards. Maintain food safety and hygiene practices in accordance with health regulations. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment. Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage food production efficiently. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained and in good working order. Help create an efficient workflow within the kitchen to maximise productivity during service hours.

Requirements



Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant environment. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary arts, and food safety regulations. Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong organisational skills with a focus on cleanliness and efficiency in the kitchen. A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes is highly desirable. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's schedule.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 14.00-15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
