We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with the ability to lead and inspire a team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation while ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.
Duties
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and managing kitchen staff.
Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen procedures.
Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
Assist in menu planning and portion control to optimise food production efficiency.
Provide exceptional service during meal periods, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standard.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management.
Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent leadership abilities with a passion for mentoring others in the kitchen.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and front-of-house staff.
