We're looking for a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be organised and efficient in prep, fast but accurate in service. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to work in a fresh kitchen making great food from scratch but also has a life outside work.
Duties
Plan and organise food preparation activities.
Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring that all team members adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.
Plan, prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to the restaurant's menu.
Manage ordering and maintain stock levels.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive learning environment.
Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring consistency with our standards.
Skills
familiar with cooking techniques and methods and has a strong understanding of culinary principles.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
Able to supervise and motivate a diverse team.
Good organiser, able to manage multiple tasks in a busy kitchen.
Strong communication skills to liaise with both kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
A love of good food and making it for our customers.
Previous experience in a similar role within a catering environment is preferred.
