We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team at our busy family run restaurant Clayton's Kitchen. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in the kitchen, assisting the Head Chef in food production and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety practices, excellent culinary skills, and the ability to supervise kitchen staff effectively. The Sous Chef will contribute to creating an exceptional dining experience for our guests while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food production.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.
Help manage inventory, including ordering and stock control of ingredients.
Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu planning and development.
Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained and cleaned regularly.
Assist in managing kitchen operations during busy service periods.
Experience
Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment is essential.
Strong knowledge of food production techniques and culinary skills.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
Experience in supervising and managing a team effectively.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
A passion for cooking and creating innovative dishes is highly desirable.
The salary per year is 40k basic salary plus 10k tips annually. Overall package of 50K. With a working week consisting of 4 1/2 days from Wednesday - Sunday.
