We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, demonstrating exceptional leadership and culinary skills. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation, safety, and presentation. This role is pivotal in maintaining the quality of our dishes while fostering a collaborative environment among kitchen staff.
Duties
Supervise and manage kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and daily specials.
Ensure that all food is prepared according to established recipes and standards.
Maintain high levels of food safety and hygiene in compliance with health regulations.
Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen procedures.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to maintain quality control and consistency across all dishes.
Handle any issues that arise during service promptly and effectively.
Experience
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
