, one of the most prestigious independent schools in the UK. As Senior Sous Chef, you will play a key role in leading kitchen operations, creating exceptional meals, and supporting a team committed to providing nutritious and inspiring food for students and staff.
Elmhurst Ballet School, affiliated with the Birmingham Royal Ballet, offers a world-class environment with state-of-the-art facilities, including a 220-seat theatre, seven dance studios, and boarding for 169 students. This role gives you the opportunity to contribute to the holistic well-being of talented young dancers through outstanding culinary experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety.
Lead and motivate a team of chefs, providing guidance, support, and training to maintain operational excellence.
Create balanced, innovative menus that cater to diverse dietary needs and enhance energy and well-being.
Oversee food preparation and service for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and hospitality events.
Maintain inventory, monitor costs, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in a senior kitchen role, ideally as a
Sous Chef
or
Senior Sous Chef
, in a high-volume catering environment.
Culinary qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) and advanced knowledge of food safety practices.
Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team.
Creativity and passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required, with a focus on work-life balance.
