Job Overview


We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Sous Chef to join the Rocket Store team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive culinary expertise, leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. As a key member of our kitchen management, you will oversee daily food preparation, manage kitchen staff, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained across all service areas, including fine dining, catering, and banquet events.

Responsibilities



Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, development, and execution with a focus on innovative cuisine and presentation. Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks and food prep personnel, ensuring efficient shift management and adherence to safety protocols. Oversee food production processes, ensuring timely preparation of dishes that meet quality standards. Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste. Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations. Coordinate with catering and banquet departments to ensure seamless service during events. Lead by example in food handling, cooking techniques, and hospitality service to foster a positive team environment. Train new staff members on kitchen procedures, safety protocols, and culinary techniques. Oversee kitchen operations during shifts to ensure smooth workflow and high customer satisfaction.

Requirements



Proven experience in fine dining establishments with strong culinary skills. Supervising experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Knowledge of banquet service, catering operations, and dietary department standards. Expertise in food production, menu planning, inventory management, and kitchen management. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage teams effectively. Experience in food safety practices and sanitation standards. Excellent cooking skills across various cuisines with an emphasis on presentation. Background in restaurant management or food service management preferred. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Prior experience with inventory control, shift management, and food handling procedures is highly desirable. Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: 25,420.00-42,798.98 per year

Expected hours: 30 - 60 per week
