Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation. This position requires a blend of culinary expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to food safety and quality. Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for seasonal dishes.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
Maintain high levels of food safety and hygiene in compliance with health regulations.
Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, equipment use, and safety protocols.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed to maintain stock.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
Help resolve any kitchen issues or challenges that arise during service.
Skills
Proficient in food preparation techniques with a strong understanding of culinary principles.
Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience supervising kitchen teams.
Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative when necessary.
Experience in a restaurant setting is highly desirable, along with familiarity with various cooking styles and cuisines.
