Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring that all food preparation and production meets our high standards of quality and presentation. This position requires a strong background in food preparation and culinary arts, along with excellent leadership skills to manage kitchen staff effectively.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation. Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations. Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management and ordering supplies. Prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area to ensure a safe working environment. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new recipes and improve existing ones. Manage food production schedules to ensure timely service during peak hours. Monitor portion control and minimise waste to maintain cost efficiency.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary arts, and kitchen management. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a team effectively. Familiarity with health and safety regulations in food handling and kitchen operations. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members. A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes.

Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: From 15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
