MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:



The Sous Chef, supporting the Deputy Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation, service, and kitchen management. This role is hands-on, requiring exceptional culinary skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to lead by example. The Sous Chef ensures that every dish leaving the kitchen meets the highest quality standards and that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently at all times.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:



Work closely with the Head Chef and Deputy Head Chef to plan, develop, and deliver menus and daily specials.

Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring consistency and quality.

Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, providing training and guidance where needed.

Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety throughout the kitchen.

Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management to reduce waste and control costs.

Step in to run the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef/ Deputy Head Chef

Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and in good working order.

Monitor portion control and ensure dishes are delivered in a timely manner during service.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior chef role in a professional kitchen.

Strong culinary expertise with knowledge of a variety of cooking techniques and cuisines.

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Ability to work calmly under pressure in a busy environment.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Good knowledge of food safety, allergen management, and hygiene regulations.

Culinary qualifications or equivalent hands-on experience.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: 36,000.00-38,000.00 per year
