Overview

We are seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join our team in a vibrant authentic Indian restaurant setting. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production, and maintaining a positive work environment.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management. Supervise kitchen staff and assist with training and development Prepare and cook a variety of dishes while adhering to recipes and presentation standards. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Help with menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed to maintain stock levels. Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and kitchen procedures. Collaborate with the culinary team to create special dishes or events as required. Assist in ordering supplies and managing inventory levels

Skills

Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse kitchen team. Proficient in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation styles. Solid understanding of food safety standards and regulations within a restaurant environment. Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to supervise effectively under pressure. Experience in food production within a fast-paced kitchen setting is highly desirable. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of food service. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative when necessary. Leadership qualities to support the Head Chef in daily operations Must have in experience in an authentic Indian kitchen
