Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of our kitchen. This position requires a strong understanding of culinary techniques, food preparation. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality and safety while leading and mentoring the kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation. Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations. Collaborate with team members to create innovative dishes that meet customer expectations. Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained and functioning properly. Help resolve any kitchen issues or conflicts that may arise during service.

Experience

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant environment. Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and presentation. Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in team management and supervising staff. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure. DBS needs to be on the update service.

Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
