Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and managing kitchen staff. Supervise food production processes to ensure quality and consistency in all dishes served. Participate in food preparation and cooking, ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standards. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to food safety regulations at all times. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team atmosphere. Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu planning, including seasonal specials and new dish development. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as necessary. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained and functioning properly.

Experience

Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting is essential. Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques and cooking methods. Previous supervisory or team management experience is highly desirable. Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations is required. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. A background in food production and service will be advantageous. Pay: 14.00-15.50 per hour
