We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality and culinary arts, with a flair for food preparation and a commitment to excellence in the kitchen. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and maintaining high culinary standards.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
Ensure efficient food preparation and presentation, adhering to recipes and portion control guidelines.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal specials.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Manage inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Handle food storage and ensure proper handling practices are followed.
Provide leadership during service periods, ensuring timely delivery of dishes.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
Strong culinary skills with an understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
Excellent leadership abilities with experience in team management and staff supervision.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
A passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
