Duties

Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and service. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure tasks are completed to the highest standards. Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, adhering to recipes and presentation standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Collaborate with team members to create new menu items and improve existing offerings. Monitor inventory levels, assisting in ordering supplies as needed to maintain stock. Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen protocols. Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and functioning efficiently.

Experience

Proven experience in a culinary role within a restaurant or hospitality setting. Supervising experience is essential, with demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively. Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment. A passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable.
