Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and kitchen management, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, managing staff, and preparing exquisite dishes that delight our guests.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate daily kitchen activities, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to recipes and presentation standards. Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality meals, maintaining consistency in taste and presentation. Manage food production schedules to ensure timely service while minimising waste. Train, mentor, and lead kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings. Handle customer feedback with professionalism, ensuring a positive dining experience for all guests.

Experience

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment. Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques and cooking methods. Previous supervisory experience is essential, demonstrating effective team management abilities. Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations is crucial for maintaining a safe kitchen environment. Excellent leadership qualities coupled with strong communication skills to effectively manage staff interactions.
