Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As the Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef, overseeing food preparation, and ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and supervising kitchen staff. Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency and quality of dishes. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal specials. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment. Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage stock rotation. Handle any issues that arise during service, ensuring customer satisfaction at all times. Maintain a high level of organisation within the kitchen to optimise workflow.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation styles. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively. Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and front-of-house staff. A passion for culinary arts and a desire to continuously learn and improve skills.

Pay: 28,000.00-30,000.00 per year
