Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation.

This position requires a strong background in culinary arts, team management, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Duties



Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and service. Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment and encouraging professional development. Help with menu planning, including the creation of new dishes and seasonal offerings that reflect current culinary trends. Ensure all food preparation meets safety and hygiene standards, maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen. Collaborate with the Head Chef to manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Participate in food preparation and cooking as needed, demonstrating culinary skills and techniques. Monitor food quality during preparation and service to ensure consistency and excellence. Address any issues that arise within the kitchen promptly and effectively.

Requirements



Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry. Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food production techniques, and culinary best practices. Excellent team management skills with the ability to supervise and motivate staff effectively. Proficient in food preparation methods with a keen eye for detail in presentation. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams. A passion for food and an eagerness to learn new culinary skills.
