Duties
Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, ensuring efficient teamwork and adherence to organisational policies
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence
Manage daily kitchen operations, including stock control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness standards
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Support staff training programmes to develop culinary skills and maintain high service standards
Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery during busy periods
Monitor portion control and minimise waste to optimise operational efficiency
Requirements
Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production and preparation
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
Solid knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings
Experience working in restaurants or similar hospitality establishments is highly desirable
Excellent cooking skills with a keen eye for detail in food presentation
Strong organisational abilities coupled with effective communication skills
Ability to work under pressure during peak service hours while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
