Newhall Mains is a boutique hotel situated in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. The premises consist of a series of luxury cottages and suites. With its own private airfield, restaurant, whisky bar and unrivalled approach to detail, we are hoping to build out one of the leading hospitality businesses in the region.
The Role:
We are looking for a sous chef to join our kitchen. As a small team you will have the chance to learn a whole range of skills and techniques with everyone helping on all aspects of the menu. From whole animal butchery, fresh pasta, pastry skills and a lot more. We have a strong focus around producing as many products used in the kitchen as possible.
The Ideal Candidate:
As a small, family run business, adaptability is crucial, a willingness to step-in everywhere is a key part of this role. The ideal candidate would be someone who is punctual, willing to learn, and can also have some fun.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting in the food preparation process
Cooking and preparing elements of high quality dishes
Preparing vegetables, meats and fish
Working alongside our existing local suppliers to procure, produce, and order stock daily
Level 1 & 2 Food Safety Certificate
Helping with deliveries and restocking
Assisting with stock rotation cleaning stations
Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards.
What we can offer you:
Full time - 39,000 per year + TRONC
28x days annual holiday (pro-rated) that includes service charge.
