Sous Chef Wanted - Join a Brand New Independent Seafood Restaurant
Location: Cornfield Terrace, Eastbourne
Working Days: Wednesday (prep) , Thursday to Sunday (service).
Salary: Up to 32,000 (based on experience and skill)
Contract: Full-Time or Part-Time Considered
We're launching an exciting new independent seafood restaurant, celebrating the best of local, seasonal produce with a modern cooking style. With a focus on bold flavours and precision, our kitchen will centre around the incredible Josper charcoal oven -- delivering depth, texture, and theatre to our dishes.
We're looking for a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to help bring our vision to life.
What You'll Bring:
A genuine passion for cooking with seafood and working with high-quality ingredients
Confidence in modern cooking techniques and plating
Experience or interest in working with the Josper oven
A minimum of 3 years' experience in professional kitchens
Excellent hygiene and food safety practices, with a strong understanding of kitchen health & safety regulations
A calm, clean, and organised approach to prep and service
The ability to support the Head Chef in managing the kitchen team and operations
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in daily preparation and service from Wednesday to Sunday
Maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness at all times
Ensure the kitchen operates safely and complies with health and safety standards
Support junior staff and contribute to a positive, team-focused culture
Help develop and execute a menu that reflects the season and our values
