Duties
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient service.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Ensure all food production meets safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen.
Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage food storage to minimise waste.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal specials that reflect current trends.
Help maintain equipment and kitchen tools, ensuring they are in good working order.
Experience
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant environment.
Strong knowledge of food production techniques, culinary arts, and kitchen management.
Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience supervising kitchen staff.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices is essential.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes is highly desirable.
