We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our team at Calvo Loco. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a commitment to excellence in food preparation and production. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring that our culinary standards are met while fostering a positive and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate daily food preparation activities. Assist in menu planning and the development of new recipes. Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene are maintained at all times. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in culinary techniques and best practices. Manage food production processes to ensure timely service during peak hours. Collaborate with the Head Chef to maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed. Help maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Participate in staff meetings to discuss menu changes, special events, and operational improvements.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a fast-paced kitchen environment. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively. Excellent culinary skills with a passion for food preparation and production. Knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Strong organisational skills with an emphasis on cleanliness and safety in the kitchen. Experience with Spanish cuisine is highly desirable

Pay: From 13.50 per hour
