We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our team at Il Pastaio!

As our range of options is expanding to handmade pasta and pasta classes, we are looking for a Sous to keep the team rolling. Since January, we have been undergoing some exciting changes with the arrival of our new Head Chef, Otello.

Our Head Chef Otello works on our social media too, on Tiktok and Instagram, so applicants who are willing and happy to be in videos or even create content are favourable and encouraged to apply!

With the instalment of our pasta table, the opportunity to learn or do handmade pasta is there, as well as potentially take pasta classes if that were a desire.

Our requirements and expectations:

Maintain a high standard of food hygiene in the kitchen. Ensure that we are compliant with food safety standards and regulations. Work as part of a team, and to be able to supervise, delegate, and lead a small team. Be able to train and mentor junior kitchen staff. Minimum of a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate. Have a solid foundation and understanding of food preparation and culinary techniques. Experience with Italian cooking is preferred but not required. Strong multi-tasking skills. References from previous experience. Previous kitchen experience required. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. A true passion and a desire to cook and explore food!
