Job Overview


We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and preparation, coupled with excellent leadership and team management skills. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen, maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Head Chef to create an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities



Assist in the management of kitchen operations, including supervising kitchen staff and coordinating food production. Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring high-quality standards are met consistently. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations. Collaborate with the Head Chef in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food preparation, and safety practices. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed to ensure efficient kitchen operations. Ensure all dishes are presented beautifully and meet the restaurant's standards before serving.

Qualifications



Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant environment, demonstrating strong culinary skills. Supervising experience with the ability to lead a team effectively. Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Excellent cooking skills with a passion for food preparation and presentation. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. A background in hospitality is preferred, along with experience in menu development. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative when required. A commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and service.
