Job Summary


We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team at our brand new flagship Mezcal Fort restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with the ability to lead and inspire a team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen, maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Your culinary expertise will contribute to creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

Responsibilities



Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and supervising kitchen staff. Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and enhance existing offerings. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen. Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and best practices. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Maintain high standards of hospitality by ensuring timely service and guest satisfaction. Participate in menu planning and cost control initiatives to optimise kitchen efficiency.

Requirements



Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting. Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management. Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary trends. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices. Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire others. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards. A passion for culinary arts and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
