We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food production and preparation, with a strong understanding of food safety standards. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring that our restaurant maintains high standards of culinary excellence and hospitality.
Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and staff.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Help create innovative menu items that reflect current culinary trends.
Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and functioning properly.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong knowledge of food production techniques and food safety regulations.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
