Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring that high standards of food quality and safety are maintained. This position requires a strong background in culinary arts, excellent leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and food preparation, ensuring all dishes meet our quality standards. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient food production and service. Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed while minimising waste. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations at all times. Collaborate with team members to create a positive working environment that fosters teamwork and hospitality. Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and presentation standards. Monitor food quality during preparation and service, making adjustments as necessary to meet guest expectations. Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items, incorporating seasonal ingredients where possible.

Experience

Proven experience in a culinary role within a restaurant environment is essential. Prior supervisory or team management experience is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is required. Demonstrated ability in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. A background in hospitality is advantageous, with an understanding of customer service principles.
