We are currently on the search for a talented Sous Chef with experience preparing quality food in a high pace environment. The successful candidate will assist the Head Chef in both culinary and administrative duties, whilst communicating with the General Manager, Executive Head Chef and the whole kitchen team. We are looking for a professional who is dedicated to food quality and sets high standards.
The job roles will include:
- Assist the Head Chef in creating rotas for kitchen staff to ensure optimum resource management and speed of service.
- Monitor and manage staff hours daily.
- Train kitchen staff on the preparation, arrangement and plating of dishes as per the current menu.
- Ensure all staff adhere to food safety standards and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, hygiene and Health & Safety legislation guidelines.
- Cross-train kitchen staff on multiple sections.
- Run the kitchen in the absence of the head chef, covering holidays and days off.
- Manage and motivate staff.
- Assist other kitchen staff as needs arise.
- Supervise performance of kitchen staff to ensure proper activity.
- Ensure effective stock purchase, its receipt and storage.
Requirements:
- 2+ years' management experience in a high volume, full-service restaurant.
- Knowledge of best practice for training kitchen staff.
- High communication skills.
- An eye for detail.
