Sous Chef
to join our founding kitchen team and help bring our vision to life.
About the Role:
As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to execute a menu that celebrates locally sourced ingredients with precision and creativity. You will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of kitchen operation, from food preparation and presentation to staff development and service flow.
We are looking for someone driven, dependable, and committed to building a cohesive and high-performing team. This is a hands-on role for a culinary professional who brings both strong leadership and a meticulous eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including service, prep, and planning
Execute elevated dishes with care, consistency, and creative flair
Uphold food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards to exacting levels
Assist in menu development, specials, and seasonal changes
Lead and motivate junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of discipline and growth
Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relations in coordination with the Head Chef
Ensure quality control in every dish that leaves the pass
Communicate effectively with the FoH team to maintain smooth service flow
Handle kitchen responsibilities in the Head Chef's absence with confidence and clarity
Maintain a calm and focused presence, even in high-pressure environments
What We're Looking For:
Proven ability to manage and mentor kitchen brigades
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Passion for locally sourced, seasonal, and sustainable produce
High standards for plating, flavour balance, and consistency
Calm, reliable, and committed to excellence in every service
Ability to take initiative, contribute ideas, and support a collaborative kitchen culture
A good understanding of kitchen costing, allergen awareness, and HACCP procedures
Desirable but not essential:
Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior kitchen role (Sous or Junior Sous)
Experience in modern British, European, or fine-dining kitchens
Familiarity with farm-to-table or ingredient-led concepts
Knowledge of foraging, preserving, or zero-waste practices
