Reports to: Head Chef

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. As the second-in-command in the kitchen, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, maintain high food standards, and ensure smooth service during busy shifts. Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. Supervise and support kitchen staff, ensuring consistent food quality and presentation. Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating during service. Maintain stock control and assist in ordering inventory when needed. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times. Assist in creating and updating menus and specials, including costing and portion control. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff. Maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas. Step in to lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a similar environment. Formal culinary training or relevant qualifications preferred. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment. Excellent time management, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Commitment to quality, consistency, and hygiene standards. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Desirable Qualities:

Creativity and passion for developing new dishes. Positive and calm attitude under pressure. A team player who leads by example. Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen control.
