Duties

Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food production. Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards. Ensure that all food safety regulations are adhered to, maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings. Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and service standards. Monitor inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as needed while minimising waste. Maintain a positive working environment, fostering teamwork and communication among kitchen staff.

Experience

Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting is essential. Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques and cooking methods. Previous supervisory or team management experience is highly desirable. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen operations. Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire team members. A passion for cooking and creativity in menu development is a plus.
