Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring that all food preparation and presentation meets our high standards. This position requires a strong understanding of culinary techniques, food safety practices, and the ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food preparation. Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring that all tasks are performed efficiently and to the highest standards. Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with health regulations. Oversee food production processes to ensure quality and consistency. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment. Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods. Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and cleanliness.

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or hospitality setting. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety practices. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively. Experience in supervising kitchen operations is highly desirable. A passion for cooking and creating exceptional dining experiences. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends. Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous.

Pay: 24,111.61-32,000.00 per year
