Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety, team management, and a commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality. As a Sous Chef, you will help lead the kitchen staff, maintain inventory, and contribute to menu development while fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and supervising kitchen staff. Ensure all food safety protocols are followed, maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen. Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring high-quality dishes are consistently produced. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and collaboration within the team. Help with menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Maintain equipment and utensils in good working order, reporting any maintenance issues promptly. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.

Experience

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively. Experience in menu planning and culinary creativity is highly desirable. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams.
