Join our brand new pub & team at The New Inn, Eccup, located just behind the Harewood estate, Eccup reservoir and world famous Emmerdale set. This project will be a sister venue to the well established Myrtle Tavern in Meanwood working alongside the owners in this newly refurbished venue with a brand new kitchen & facilities located with the best countryside views in Leeds, yet only a 15 minute drive from Headingley.

We have long term plans for the right people and are proud of our small companies history of staff retention. You will be joining the New Inn team working with Tamas our head chef who has been head chef at the Myrtle and furthering his career now at The New Inn Eccup.

Job Summary


We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary excellence and a strong background in food production and preparation. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

Duties



Supervise and coordinate daily kitchen activities, ensuring efficient food production and service. Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for dishes. Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards. Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment and encouraging professional growth. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in compliance with health regulations. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Collaborate with the Head Chef to manage kitchen operations during service periods. Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality before serving to guests.

Requirements



Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably within a restaurant setting. Strong supervisory experience with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively. Excellent cooking skills with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality. Previous experience in food production and kitchen management is essential. Exceptional leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate staff. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of food service. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
