Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food production and preparation. This role requires a strong understanding of food safety regulations and the ability to supervise kitchen staff while maintaining a positive and efficient work environment.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food production. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations. Monitor food inventory levels, placing orders as necessary to ensure adequate supplies. Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings. Ensure all food safety standards are met, including proper storage, handling, and preparation of ingredients. Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and restaurant policies. Help manage kitchen operations during busy service periods, ensuring timely delivery of meals.

Skills

Strong knowledge of food production techniques and culinary practices. Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Proven experience in a hospitality or restaurant environment. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen setting. Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management. Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments. A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes.
