Overview


Anji's & Hole in the wall are seeking a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join our team. The candidate must be available to work 8am - 4pm for Anji's and 5pm - 10pm for hole in the wall which is open Friday - Sunday with a view to expanding. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food and hospitality, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and safety.

Responsibilities



Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management. Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment. Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to menu specifications, ensuring consistency and presentation. Monitor food production processes to maintain quality control and adherence to food safety standards. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Provide exceptional service during meal periods, assisting with plating and serving as required.

Experience



Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting is essential. Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques. Demonstrated supervisory experience with effective team management skills. Solid understanding of food safety practices and regulations. Excellent communication and leadership abilities to inspire and motivate kitchen staff. Culinary qualifications or training from a recognised institution would be advantageous.
