The Sir Thomas Hotel

is a boutique family operated business, with newly refurbished guest rooms, an excellent restaurant, and a well-stocked bar. It is located in a position that provides easy access to all of Liverpool's historic attractions.

The role of Sous Chef is a challenging and fulfilling one, where no two days are the same. As a Sous Chef you will be the partner of the Head Chef. You will oversee the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, meet high standards of food hygiene and professionalism, and train your team to learn new cooking techniques. You will also deal with suppliers and handle paperwork, such as ordering and invoicing.

Responsibilities:

Help in the preparation and design of all food and drinks menu. Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise. Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards. Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff performance. Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards. Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers.

Experience and Skills:

Experience of working in a professional kitchen, running special events and taking all Health and Safety considerations into account. Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry. Excellent verbal and communication skills. Possess good teamwork and engagement skills. Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Great attitude to work and personality that aligns with our values.
