Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong background in restaurant operations. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. You will be responsible for leading the kitchen team, overseeing food production, and maintaining an efficient and harmonious working environment.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and development, ensuring creativity and seasonal relevance. Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and guidance to enhance their culinary skills. Oversee daily food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency and quality. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen. Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods. Help create a positive work environment by fostering teamwork and communication among staff.

Skills

Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within a restaurant setting. In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and culinary techniques. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences. Ability to work collaboratively with others while also being able to take initiative when required. A creative mindset with an eye for detail in food presentation.
