as required. The ideal candidate will support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality food, managing the kitchen team, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, particularly during evening and night shifts
Ensure all food preparation and presentation meets quality standards
Supervise and support kitchen staff, ensuring smooth operations across all shifts
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with food safety regulations
Control food costs and minimize waste through proper inventory and portion management
Lead service during the absence of the Head Chef
Contribute to menu planning, specials, and recipe development
Ensure stock levels are maintained and orders are placed as required
Requirements:
Minimum
3-5 years' experience
in a commercial kitchen, with at least
1-2 years as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie
Flexibility to work
night shifts and weekends
is essential
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Knowledge of health & safety and food hygiene standards (Level 2 or 3 Food Safety Certificate preferred)
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Right to work in the UK
