We are looking for an experienced, passionate, and team-oriented
Sous Chef
to support our kitchen operations and uphold the standards of our Italian menu. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to lead kitchen staff, maintain quality control, and ensure smooth day-to-day culinary operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Executive Chef in planning and executing seasonal Italian menus, daily specials, and prep schedules.
Supervise and support line cooks, prep cooks, and dish staff during service.
Maintain consistency and quality in food preparation and presentation.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation standards, and food handling protocols.
Manage inventory, place orders, and receive deliveries to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
Train and mentor back-of-house team members, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
Fill in for the Executive Chef during their absence.
Help manage food cost, portion control, and kitchen labor efficiency.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or senior line cook, preferably in an Italian or high-volume scratch kitchen.
Strong knowledge of traditional and modern Italian cooking techniques.
ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification (preferred).
Ability to lead by example, stay calm under pressure, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
