Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that high standards of food quality and presentation are maintained. This position requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to food safety, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and supervising kitchen staff. Oversee food production processes to ensure quality and consistency in all dishes. Participate in food preparation and cooking, demonstrating culinary expertise. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team atmosphere. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high hygiene standards. Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu planning and development. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace.

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment. Strong background in food production and preparation techniques. Excellent team management abilities, fostering collaboration among staff. Proficient cooking skills with a passion for culinary excellence. Extensive kitchen experience, ideally within a restaurant setting. Solid understanding of hospitality principles and customer service. Strong leadership qualities, capable of motivating and guiding a team. Knowledge of food safety practices to ensure compliance with health regulations. Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, enhancing operational efficiency.
