Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and ensuring smooth service during meal periods.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to the restaurant's menu specifications, ensuring consistency in presentation and taste.
Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and utilised efficiently.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu development, including seasonal specials and innovative dishes that reflect current culinary trends.
Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as necessary to ensure adequate supplies.
Participate in regular kitchen meetings to discuss performance, address challenges, and implement improvements.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong knowledge of food production techniques and culinary arts, with an emphasis on quality and presentation.
Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a team effectively while promoting a positive work culture.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining hygiene standards in the kitchen.
