We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our small kitchen team, here at Restaurant Kensington. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef & Owners in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that high standards of food quality, hygiene & health & safety are maintained. This position is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to develop their culinary skills while leading a team.
This position is also ideally suited to somebody who is already a Sous Chef and looking for a fresh start, work or somebody who is ready to progress into the role.
Shift Pattern is a Wednesday - Monday 5 Day Weeks, 2 Days off, Split Shifts, on average 50-55hours per week. Restaurant is closed Tuesday

Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation to ensure exceptional dining experiences.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to recipes.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
Oversee the preparation and cooking of dishes, ensuring consistency and quality in every plate served.
Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, safety protocols, and best practices.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
Assist in developing new recipes and menu items that align with the restaurant's vision.

Strong leadership abilities with experience in team management within a culinary environment.
Proficient culinary skills with a solid understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining a clean kitchen environment.
