Duties
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and preparation.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, adhering to all relevant regulations.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to prepare and present dishes that meet the restaurant's quality standards.
Manage inventory, including ordering and stock control, to ensure all ingredients are fresh and readily available.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment and encouraging professional development.
Help create new menu items and specials, contributing innovative ideas that reflect current culinary trends.
Ensure that the kitchen is organised, clean, and well-maintained at all times.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the culinary field.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Excellent skills in food preparation and production techniques.
Demonstrated ability to manage a team effectively, showcasing leadership qualities.
