Duties

Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and supervising kitchen staff. Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency and quality of dishes. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the kitchen. Collaborate with the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and inventory management. Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering supplies as necessary. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace, adhering to health and safety guidelines. Engage with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.

Experience

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant environment. Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management and training. Comprehensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation styles. Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in hospitality. Excellent leadership abilities with strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members. Previous experience in high-pressure kitchen settings is advantageous, along with a passion for culinary excellence.
