Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our small but very hard working kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and experience in food production within a restaurant/pub environment. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supervising kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation, and leading the culinary team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking. Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality standards and presented beautifully. Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations. Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings. Monitor food production processes to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes. Handle any kitchen-related issues that may arise during service.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant/pub setting. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary trends. Familiarity with health and safety regulations in the kitchen environment. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail. Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional customer service. Able to work evenings and weekends ( rota applies to all staff)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From 13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 40 per week
