Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Pici, our newly opened pasta bar in the heart of Nottingham City Centre. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food production and safety. This position requires strong leadership skills, culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in supervising kitchen staff and coordinating food production activities. Oversee food preparation, ensuring quality and presentation meet established standards. Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene practices. Manage fresh food stock, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and encouraging team environment. Contribute to menu development and implement health and safety procedures. Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen at all times. Handle any kitchen-related issues that may arise during service.

Experience

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or culinary setting. Strong knowledge of food production techniques and culinary arts. Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in team management. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. A passion for cooking and a desire to create memorable dining experiences for guests.
