We are hiring a Sous Chef with a passion & enthusiasm for food & cooking to expand our current kitchen team.
Responsibilities will include assisting our head chef with prep work, menu planning, stock takes/rotation, ordering etc..
Main Duties:
To lead the kitchen team in head chef's absence
Oversee and organizes kitchen stock and ingredients
Ensure a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance
Keep cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours
Manage food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimises waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns
Supervise all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards
Work closely with the Restaurant team to deliver the highest possible standard of service
Work with head chef to maintain kitchen organization and if applicable staff ability
Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
Verify that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed
Assist head chef with menu creation
Ensure that all procedures are recorded and kept up to date
Ensure that the standards of hygiene, cleanliness and food safety are always maintained at the highest possible level
Ensure that all reasonable care is taken for the health and safety of yourself, other employees, guests and other persons on the premises.
Observe all safety procedures and rules.
Report and where possible take action on incidents of accidents or damage.
Ensure that all fire doors are closed and that fire routes are kept clear at all times.
Be aware and comply with company policy regarding: Fire, Health & Safety, Hygiene, Food Hygiene, Customer Care & Security
Be aware of customer requests, respond positively to customer feedback
